The Psychotherapy Process

So often we may find ourselves trying desperately to change our thoughts and feelings, or to forget memories which may haunt us. This rarely works. Maybe we try and fail to change our behaviors without fully understanding what is motivating our choices. Sometimes we just feel stuck, confused, unhappy, or unfulfilled in some way.

Psychotherapy is a prolonged conversation where you can feel safe to take a new look at your life and have the chance to grow in ways that may surprise you from what is learned. The process is relational, and works by providing you emotional support while coming to better understand your own past relationships and experiences. It is a process that provides you with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding about yourself. To my mind, without truly coming to know oneself there can be no real change.

Psychotherapy can make tolerating and navigating the problems of living a gift and not merely a task.
